City House: Kitchen Progress

It has been a long haul for the city house and Dave has been at it full force. We (99% him, 1% me) have been really putting a push on getting this place finished and on the market.

Although we are not 100% finished and staged I thought I would give a quick update with some photos to show you how far we’ve come!

These photos are the “before” shots. There was no patio door, only a window in the dining area. The floor was a disaster and a half. And the cabinets (although solid wood) were a dated finished and needed an update.

I’ll start with the dining area (so far). A new light fixture was installed for over the table. A set of french doors replaced the window giving full access to the large deck and yard. The ceiling and walls were also given a fresh coat of paint.

The next big thing is the flooring. We went with a neutral tile. It made it easier to pull colors from. The wall color, new counter top color, even the cabinet pallet was all pulled from this tile. We used the same tile in the kitchen, main bath, and laundry room.

The cabinets also are getting a makeover with a dark chocolate finish. You’ll notice we removed the decorative wood that went from cabinet to ceiling. New counter tops have been cut, and are soon to be installed. Cabinet doors will also be installed shortly with new hardware.

A few projects to finish in here but at this point the majority of the work is done. Looking forward to staging once complete. Fingers crossed that it won’t be much longer!
